On some newer vehicles, it may be necessary to send your ECU to us for a mail-in unlock procedure.
Once this operation is completed, you will be able to read from and write to the ECU using your preferred tools.
Mail your ECU to our headquarters in Auburn, Alabama, USA.
We'll unlock it and send it back the same day.

Step 1
Mail us your ECU
We make shipping easy: We send you the shipping label for UPS Next Day Air at phenomenal rates. Just drop it off at any UPS access point.
You'll receive the shipping label during our normal M-F, 8-5 Central business hours.
Not sure if it's locked? An AutoTuner Tool will tell you. Some cars have two ECUs so you'll need to purchase an unlock for both. If we require the case to be opened, we'll let you know!
Step 2
We'll unlock it and mail it back
Our trained professionals run each ECU through a secure, proprietary unlocking process. The exact methods are confidential as revealing them could risk future manufacturer lockouts.
All AutoTuner USA unlocks are unlocked same day in the USA and we don't physically modify the ECU. We ship it back UPS Next Day Air.
We process ECUs during normal business hours: M-F, 8-5 Central.

Time to have fun
With your unlocked ECU in hand, reinstall it and get down to tuning.
You have the freedom to choose how you will tune as we don't lock OBD into any ecosystem. We can't guarantee they all work, but we don't lock you out. If you need a bench flash, just use an AutoTuner Tool.
